The Colombian Pacific region is a fascinating area with a lot to tell. First of all, it is recognized for being one of the rainiest areas in the world, with rainfall that can reach 10,000 millimeters per year.

The biogeographic Chocó is a paradise for bird and herp lovers. More than 800 species of birds can be found in its dense tropical rainforests, including resplendent hummingbirds, striking macaws and colorful toucans.
In addition, this ecosystem is home to a great diversity of herps, such as brightly colored poison dart frogs, tree snakes and endemic lizards.

The combination of an abundance of diverse habitats and high rainfall make the Chocó an ideal place for wildlife, resulting in an incredible variety of bird and herpet species, making it a true treasure trove for biology and conservation.
