Embark on a unique experience with our workshop dedicated to landscape and nature photography in the stunning Cerros de Mavecure. Guided by the talented Jhonattan Vanegas, we will explore the wonders of the Colombian Orinoco region.
This workshop fuses the mastery of our instructor with the natural grandeur of the region. Through theoretical and practical sessions, you will have the opportunity to perfect composition techniques and storytelling skills, tools that are vital for creating impactful content.
Capturing images in the hills of Mavecure is to immerse yourself in a universe of awe and natural wonder. From the top of these stone monoliths, a panoramic view unfolds, revealing the majesty of the jungle and the visual symphony created by the palette of vibrant greens and the fluidity of the Inírida River.
This act of capturing the essence of the Mavecure hills goes beyond technical skill; it is an introspective journey. The immensity of nature invites us to reflect on the fragility of our planet, underscoring the importance of preserving these pristine places. Each snapshot becomes a visual testimony of the wild beauty in this remote corner of Colombia, reaffirming the need to appreciate and protect our valuable natural diversity.
Brigde compact cameras: A versatile option for people who do not want to opt for heavy equipment, with this camera you can apply all the knowledge you are going to learn in this photographic workshop, with this equipment you can do landscape and bird photography.
Telephoto Lens minimum 400mm: Bird photography is demanding in terms of equipment, our recommendation is a lens that allows you to generate photographs of the species at a distance with optimum quality.
Macro or close-up lens: Macro lenses are an incredible tool when you want to do herpet photography, if you don’t want to buy a macro focused lens, look for an inverter ring adjustable to your kit lens and you can do macro photography in this photographic workshop.
Wide angle lenses 16mm – 24mm: Take this opportunity to capture thebeautiful sunsets and starry nights of the eastern plains, with a wide angle lens you can capture the essence of Casanare.

RECOMMENDATIONS DURING THE WORKSHOP:
We will begin an immersive photographic adventure in nature where you will discover and tell your version of your story through your photographs. We have some recommendations that will be very useful when choosing your equipment depending on the approach you want to explore. We want to travel comfortably and protect our equipment. We’ll give you some tips on what to keep in mind.
Follow instructions: Above all others, the most important rule to live by while exploring is to observe and follow all oral instructions given by the tour leader, or lodge or station staff.
Protect yourself from the sun at all times: During the explorations we will be exposed to high, low temperatures or humid tropical climates, it is recommended to bring all the elements that protect from the sun such as hats or caps, collars, sunscreen and long sleeve shirts.
Basics: You should know and handle the basics of manual photography (aperture, speeds, ISO, focal range). If you do not know these concepts, we recommend you take our basic photography course where you will receive an Introduction to Photography before the photographic tour.
Protect your equipment from humidity: Reduce the impact of temperature changes, try to keep the battery out of the camera, this can reduce electronic damage and prolong your charge. Carry dry bags that allow you to keep your equipment isolated from the weather conditions. It is always advisable to carry silica gel, these absorb moisture. After working days you can put your equipment in the dry bag and add plenty of silica gel to absorb the moisture retained by your camera.
Take care of your belongings: All our favorite destinations are safe to travel to. You should always be vigilant and take care of your valuable items whenever you find yourself in crowded bus stations, busy city streets and bustling markets.
